What you’ll need

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup / 80 ml neutral oil
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2½ cups / 315 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup thick jam or prepared poppy-seed filling

Contains: Wheat, egg.

Let’s make it

  1. Whisk eggs, sugar, oil, orange juice and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt to form a soft dough.
  2. Wrap and chill 30 minutes. Heat oven to 350°F / 175°C and line two baking sheets.
  3. Roll dough about ⅛ inch thick on a floured surface. Cut 3-inch circles.
  4. Put ½–1 tsp thick filling in each center. Fold three sides toward the center, overlapping the corners, leaving a small opening. Pinch firmly.
